80th bday party
I'm in Newport Beach, CA until monday. We(dad, matt and I) flew in thurs afternoon and got here that evening. We stopped at In and out burger for dinner and drove the 1/2 hour maybe hour from LA to Newport beach. We are staying in this hotel and yacht club by my grandfather's sailboat. He's had this boat forever my dad sailed on it when he was a kid. Anyway we are in newport beach because it's my grandfather's 80th birthday and my grandmother threw him a party with everyone family, friends, etc on the guest list. So anyway we are at this really nice hotel. The beds are all coverd with down padding to make them extra soft. The place is awsome. Dad said this whole trip cost 1500.
So friday we got in and said 'hi' to my grandparents and went to bed. Then yesterday dad, matt, my dad's cousin Ronna and her hubby Dana, and my grandfather and me went sailing on my grandfather's sailboat "rainbow". We sailed around the bay. I thought i would be bored so i bought a cosmo to read. Then all of the sudden dolphins were playing along side the boat. Jumping and diving. Some even came to the front of the boat to play. So Ronna and I move to the front and got to the very front where the boat points and just watch. I could almost reach down and touch them. They would jump up and squirt water though thier blow holes and dive back down again and on to their backs showing thier white bellys. That was the closest i'd even been. Sure i'd seen the shows at the aquariems but this was diffrent they are in the wild and happy. It was soo cool. So after awhile they got bored and left. Then at a bowie we saw at least 20 seals just sun bathing. some were barking but not many. they were just piled on top of each other chilling in the sun. It was great. I had a good time. Well until we got back and i realized i got sunburnt all over my face. which is now really red. So for diner and such i had to put so much makeup on. Dinner was at a nice place called sage. Nothing mind blowing but it was good. The sailing crew plus my grandmother and her friend Reba were there. On the way back Matt entertained me with impressions of the family guy cast. It was great he's pretty good.
Today i slept in. Dad took me for lunch on this island called Balboa island. It was a cross between New Jersey beach homes and Cali beach life. Small place but must be nice to live there. Lunch was good and we came back here and saw my aunt Carla and her son Jordan who is my age.. had arrived along with my aunt Linda uncle David and their 3 kids. Everyone was at the pool. I stayed for a bit but went inside my head was killing me. Around 4ish we all got ready and at 5 we walked to the beach where my grandfather's party was. It was nice even though i didn't know half the people but they knew me when i was this big... My uncle phill(carla's hubby) and cousin rachel arrived late because Rachel had a vollyball game in LA. Dinner was good see food and steak and dessert was a chochoate cake plus 2 other cakes for me and Rachel who both have birthday's in july. She just turned 16. The cakes were good. It started to get cold and soon everyone started to leave. Matt and I tired for a night swim as we did yesterday but a gard kicked us out tonight b/c the pool closed at 10 :-(
Tomorrow i hear we are doing some living art thing... whatever that is. So i'll see all the family again. It should be interesting, Though today wasn't all that bad i got to talk to some reltives like my uncle alan or as we call him bernie. he used to be a prof at Uof A but he's retired now.
Anyway that's the news i'm tired so i'll think about going to bed.. as for my fan fic well it's coming along slowly....
